It really depends upon who you decide to go to for your information, since there are as many opinions as there are people offering them to you for your consideration. They will all attempt to influence you to abide with their opinion and bias. So...if you listen to me, you are in for a surprise.
An article was recently published which denounced and tried to debunk a few alternative holistic therapies in 2009. I am sure the same group will have a list for you in 2010 and 2011 as well. I want to weigh in on a few from this year for your edification.
Homeopathy: The nosodes and homeopathic remedies that have been used far longer than the scientists who are performing their clinical studies are effective when and only when they are properly administered to individuals. They work on an energetic level and most scientists don't have the equipment nor the knowledge necessary to measure genuine therapeutic changes from the use of homeopathic remedies.
My EAV equipment will show whether or not a specific homeopathic remedy and the strength of that remedy is going to be indicated for any individual. Each person tests differently and no homeopathic is ideal for everyone. It is impossible to design a clinical trial that takes this into consideration. Scientists will NEVER be able to make a true or accurate evaluation of homeopathy using their traditional approaches to clinical trials and research.
You are smart to rely on hundreds of years of practice by Homeopathic Physicians trained to assess an individual with a lengthy repertory and very specific potency for the homeopathic remedy or group of remedies. In the hands of an expert, you will notice that your bio-energetic signature changes over time with a series of homeopathic treatments.
I have observed clinically significant changes in the health status of patients change with the proper homeopathic protocol. But in the end, you must choose. Just choose to locate and work closely with a trained Homeopathic Physician who is a professional in the field. Don't settle for anything less that this...
Reiki: Here's the major consideration for you to look at when opting for a Reiki session. Does the practitioner have the 'juice' to change your bio-energetic field or not? Most don't. Many are qualified to go through the process, but they cannot manage the energy in order to accomplish a healing experience for their patients. Yet...there are some people who do have the energy and the knowledge to be able to evoke a change in your field. The energy is the key here. No one can certify another individual...it just is going to depend on the person whether or not they have what it takes to produce the 'energy' to facilitate healing in your body and field. The only way you'll know is to experience a session or to take a Kirlian photograph before, during, and after a Reiki session to make this determination.
I've used magnets, but there's a lot to it and it's no walk in the park. You have to have a way to measure the effect. Although I do recommend the movement of the lymph with magnetic therapy and the use of a pad for balancing the magnetic fields while sleeping. Many of the other applications are gimmicks or better for some people but not all people. The science is still young and you really need to be able to measure the subtle changes if you are going to use magnetic therapies. I do whole-heartedly recommend the use of magnets for geo-pathic anomalies.
As far as Kava goes...stick to the local concoctions by experienced drinkers while in the tropical islands. You don't need to experiment with Kava in a nutritional supplement when there are preferable herbs and other products which are superior for relaxation and stress management.
As for Reflexology...everyone deserves to give this a fair trial on their own and feel what your body tells you after several sessions by a trained Reflexologist. I love having my feet massaged and the energy meridians are going to bring about a change in the bio-energetic field when you get your reflexology or foot massage session whether a research scientist likes it or not. They are your feet and it's your body afterall. You be the judge, jury, and research through experience.
And as for progress in the Western Medical Community for HIV and AIDS, people need to realize that this virus continues to mutate and no vaccine will ever be perfected for this with consistent results. Research into the why and how will yield results, but it merely is going to keep patients alive longer and slow the progress of the disease. The only real cure for AIDS is a 'change in Consciousness' and a change in Lifestyle. Attitude is everything and this applies in this case...if there is no true 'love of self'; then disease will continue to riddle the body. It's not all that difficult to address the elimination of the virus and the conditions which weaken and compromise the Immune System; but the challenge is within the Mind and spirit of the individual which no medicine will ever manage alone - it is an inner process and there will be no lasting remedy without this personal transformation.
So...take it from me, to denounce and debunk any therapeutic modality takes more than a little scientific trial or someone's opinion. It takes direct experience and a reasonable method of evaluation of each protocol and each individual. But at least we are all making an effort to learn more about the healing process.
